Dallas mayor, volunteers help the homeless for Christmas
(Dallas Morning News December 24, 2011)

At a time when most people are at home unwrapping their gifts and staying warm, there are those who have no family, no home, and no warmth with which to share this wonderful holiday. With this in mind, every year the SoupMobile provides a magical Christmas for homeless men and women at the downtown Dallas Hyatt Regency.

Started in 2005, when we put up 100 homeless men and women, Celebrate Jesus has grown in number and impact. With the help of over 2,000 volunteers, we now take in 500 homeless men, women, and children, and hold a huge banquet in their honor, serve them, give them new clothes, fabulous gifts, great food, and lots of love and care. Most important is that our guests wake up on Christmas morning in a safe, warm bed at the Hyatt - NOT in a cardboard box under a bridge somewhere.

See below for photos and media coverage of last year's Celebrate Jesus Christmas Extravaganza.
